Art & Hobby Studio invites you starting with October 6, 2020 to the MIXED ART HISTORY COURSE – ONLINE for adults.
Duration: 12 sessions
Structure: 3 MODULES of 4 SESSIONS each (every Tuesday and Friday)
During the 3 modules we will study 3 important currents that have influenced the trajectory of fine arts over time.
The course is aimed at those who want to acquire information about art history and learn about the peculiarities of the styles of great artists. The meetings also have a practical component where they will reproduce the works of the most important representatives of the currents.
Module 1 – Impressionism
During the 4 sessions we will study the peculiarities of this current that is distinguished by the pure colors that are often applied side by side, with thick, opaque lines; mingling in the eye of the viewer when viewed from a distance.
We will work on the chassis canvas using oil colors.
Representatives of this current we have Frédéric Bazille, Gustave Caillebotte, Mary Cassatt, Paul Cézanne, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, etc.
Module 2 – Art – Nouveau
In this module we will work in egg emulsion tempera with glass as support. We will have as a source of inspiration the art nouveau stained glass windows characterized by female figures that were most often depicted as stylized objects and not as people.
We will be inspired by the works of artists such as: John Ruskin, Edward Burne-Jones, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
Module 3 – Cubism
We will study the peculiarities of the Cubist current, taking as examples the works of artists such as Pablo Picasso or Georges Braque. Cubism consisted in rejecting the perspective, which leads to a new organization of the space in which the points of view multiply producing a fragmentation of the object that makes evident the predilection of the form over the content of the representation.
We will work in acrylic colors on canvas.
