Course Description:

The Amateur Painting Course is specially designed for art enthusiasts eager to explore various techniques and artistic mediums. The course is structured into three distinct modules, each focusing on a specific painting medium: acrylic, watercolor & ink, and oil. Each module consists of 4 engaging sessions in which participants will learn fundamental techniques, unleash their creativity, and enhance their artistic skills.

Curriculum:

Module 1: Acrylic Painting

Duration: 4 sessions

Techniques covered:

• Introduction to acrylic painting: characteristics, advantages, and suitable surfaces.
• Color mixing techniques and proper brush handling.
• Creating balanced compositions and understanding perspective in painting.
• Applying textures and layering techniques for visual depth.
• Completing a canvas painting based on a model chosen by the participant.

Module 2: Watercolor and Ink Techniques

Duration: 4 sessions

Techniques covered:

• Introduction to watercolor and ink: transparency, fluidity, and expressiveness.
• Application techniques for watercolor and ink to create atmosphere and detail.
• Playing with light and shadow in watercolor and ink.
• Creating four artworks exploring themes such as landscapes, still life, and portraits using watercolor and ink.

Module 3: Oil Painting

Duration: 4 sessions

Techniques covered:

• Introduction to oil painting: consistency, layering, drying time, solvents, and material care.
• Color mixing techniques and subtle layering in oil painting.
• Creating an oil painting on canvas based on a model chosen by the participant.
• Developing personal style and interpreting subjects in oil painting.

Each session will include:

• Presentation of key concepts and techniques specific to the painting medium.
• Practical demonstrations by the instructor, with opportunities for questions.
• Hands-on practice where participants experiment with techniques in artistic projects.
• Feedback sessions and constructive discussions about completed works.

All necessary materials will be provided by the organizers. At the end of each module, participants will be encouraged to share and discuss their experiences, learn from each other’s approaches, and refine their skills in an inspiring environment.
