Group 1: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Group 2: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Duration: 4 SESSIONS (every Thursday)

Compared to oil paints, acrylic colors are water-soluble, can be applied directly to canvas, have a much shorter drying time, and a longer lifespan. Positioned between watercolor and oil, through various techniques you will learn throughout this course, you will discover how to manipulate color towards the bright effect of watercolor, the realistic effect of oil, or a composition of the two.

Structured in four sessions, we will learn about the basics of chromatology, how to mix colors, measure proportions with the brush handle, and how to stage the painting starting with the sketch, continuing with color application, and ending with the brushstroke, using a brush or a palette knife:

In the first session, we learn the basics of painting, how to measure, then we start sketching a landscape. After finishing the sketch, we begin to paint two layers of color, respecting the notions of chromatology. In the second session, we finalize the painting of the landscape by adding colors in stages and creating the final brushstrokes. In sessions 3 and 4, applying the notions practiced in the first two sessions, we will paint a still life, thus deepening the study of proportions.
