Beginner Painting Course – Starting September 17, 2025, at Art & Hobby Studio

Have you always wanted to paint but didn’t know where to begin? This course is designed for anyone who wants to explore the world of painting, regardless of prior experience. Step by step, in a relaxed and encouraging environment, you’ll experiment with three classic painting mediums: acrylics, watercolor & ink, and oils.

Over 12 sessions, under the guidance of a patient and experienced instructor, you’ll learn how to express your ideas visually, discover techniques that work for you, and begin to shape your own creative style.

Course schedule:
• Start date: September 10, 2025
• Frequency: 1 session per week – every Wednesday
• Duration: 12 sessions

– Group 1: 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM
– Group 2: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM
– Group 3: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM

What you’ll learn:

Module 1 – Acrylic Painting
We begin with acrylics – a versatile and beginner-friendly medium. You’ll learn how to mix colors, handle different brushes, and create balanced compositions with texture and depth. Through hands-on exercises, you’ll complete a full painting on canvas, based on a theme of your choice. It’s a great way to get comfortable with painting and start seeing results early on.

Module 2 – Watercolor and Ink
Next, you’ll explore the expressive and spontaneous nature of watercolor and ink. We’ll work with transparency, fluidity, and layering to create mood and atmosphere. You’ll learn how to use ink for contrast and fine details. By the end of this module, you’ll have several completed works exploring themes like landscapes, still life, and portraiture.

Module 3 – Oil Painting
We close the course with oil painting – a timeless and richly textured medium. You’ll get to know the tools and materials involved, how to work in layers, and how to build subtle color transitions. You’ll also learn how to care for your brushes and manage drying times. In this final module, you’ll create your own oil painting, applying everything you’ve learned while exploring your personal style.

• All materials are provided by the studio
